Telefon Tel Aviv - Fahrenheit Fair Enough
Some records need a few rounds on the vinyl or CD player before they are appreciated. Some records are an instant hit, and stay evergreen, and some do not and fade away. Some records need something else. All music needs an environment to blossom in. I keep falling in love my ?Telefon Tel Aviv' Fahrenheit fair enough record each winter. For some reason it keeps showing up on the turntable when the temperature drops and the days become shorter. Released on Chicago based label named Hefty Records as Hefty 35 in the year of 2001, this is the first full length album of multi-instrumentalist Joshua Eustis and Charlie Cooper, better known as ?Telefon Tel Aviv'. What I always enjoy when listening to this records is the way one track flows into the next, creating an atmosphere that repeatedly is interrupted by the inevitable flipping of the record. I have sometimes though about how it would have been if my record was not a vinyl but a CD, and was put on repeat, endless repeat, would that mean that I would be listening to Fahrenheit fair enough till I fell a sleep, because I sure cannot turn the record of. The lovely melodies that keep coming from this disc of mine is something I recommend you, dear reader. The melodies are subtle and flowing, not original neither cliché, only soothing and pleasant. There is no need in my opinion to dwell over this or that tune, as this is a wonderful album that should be enjoyed as an album.
