Sónar-by-Day Friday - Zelada & Pannacciò
Emiliano Zelada & Jonathan Pannacciò
Emiliano Zelada presented a concert of different sounds related to different emotions. The music was a droning space-age sound that grew, letting its vibrating monotone structure engulf the listening audience. Visual artist Jonathan Pannacciò coupled the captivating sound produced by Zelada. Pannacciò did not match the powerful sound of Zelada, as the music took centre stage. Sounds that are so captivating as the one produced by Zelada could have just as well stood on its own feet. Sitting in a cool room after spending some hours on the hot Mediterranean sunshine, listening to airy and lush tones, such as the ones Zelada played, you don’t really need simple computer graphics to let your mind wander. The tracks melted into one another, making them undistinguishable in retrospective. This is not meant as a critique; in fact it is rather a compliment.
