Bacanal Intruder
Bacanal Intruder released last year their first official CD titled ‘Lulo’. The group includes a member of .tape. from the Spanish label Spa.rk. On stage at the Sonar festival, in the spacious and cool Escenario Hall, Bacanal Intruder accompanied their playful sound with a repetitive playful cartoon, changing the animation theme after each song. The song performed were cheerful and melodic, resembling the naïve and innocence of the cartoons that went along with the music. The most prominent instrument for a long period of the concert was the guitar, plucking away with a repetitive melody, occasionally interrupted by an electronic distraction. The music could be described as a simpler version of Four Tet. The show never progressed from its original starting point; then again it never felt like it would. Bacanal Intruder kept it easy and simple. Paired along with a good visual, this concert was a slow and relaxing affair.
