08-10.05.08: On the Edge of Wrong 08 - Live at Hausmania
On The Edge Of Wrong – Oslo is a festival spanning over three days; 8th – 10th May 2008. Experimental music and sound art represented by a young creative scene and curated by likewise two creative minds in musician Morten Minothi Kristiansen and conceptualist Tine Semb.
Podium in Hausmannsgate 34 is the chosen location. Podium is defined as an artist laboratory, and this is indeed descriptive of what kind of event OTEoW – Oslo is. Through 6-9 performances per night, alternative sub-genres within electronica, noise, jazz, different forms of improvised compositions and programmed sound will be presented.
Present in the venue is an installation consisting of objects, sculptures, floor-/wall painting and light to which some of the musicians will relate to during their live performances. We aim to break boundaries through this experiment.
The Oslo leg of the project has a natural focus on the Norwegian scene, and a strong motivation is to strengthen the exchange between the two. This years On The Edge Of Wrong – Oslo features Mark Fransman (ZA) who recently received the award “Standard Banks young artist of the year 2008” in South Africa. Other International acts are Eiko (CH) and Simona Barbera (IT).
Our main focus on this festival is for the electronica leg, Saturday 10th May. Turn up at Hausmania from 19.30ish for live performances from many of the current names of the Norwegian electronica scene, Svarte Greiner in an exciting collaboration set with Elegi, the electric duo Beneva v Clark Nova and the prolific purveyor of darkness and noise, Sten Ove Toft, the industrial/prog-rock and last but not least this year’s special resident guest, Mark Fransman.
